On a Mission

In 2018, as a group of mental health professionals and programs, we decided to join forces to tackle a Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG):

To drive adolescent anxiety, depression and suicide from the all-time highs of today to all-time lows by 2028.

Our ability to achieve this BHAG is dependent upon the strength of our culture, which is the starting point for our impact and success.

Our Core Purpose Our reason for being and the reason our organization exists, is to create joy and heal generations

Our Vision is to become the most respected, recognized and valuable family behavioral health care company in the world.

"I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy."

Rabindranath Tagore

Our Core Values

We cannot "set" organizational values, we can only discover them. Nor can we "install" new core values into people. Core values are not something people "buy in" to. People must be predisposed to holding them. The task, therefore, is for us to find people who are already predisposed to sharing our core values. We must attract and then retain these people.

Our Core Values are so fundamental that we would hold them regardless of whether they were rewarded or not. These core values are ones we hope our children will hold when they become working adults. We envision these Core Values being as valid 100 years from now as they are today.

Empathy is one of the most powerful agents of change used within our company. Whether interacting with our employees or facilitating treatment in one of our programs, empathy is pervasive throughout our culture. These empathetic, positive interactions result in authentic relationships where they can be the catalyst for change and growth.

When our employees and students feel understood they feel valued. This sense of personal and professional value, formed from an authentic relationship with a supervisor, therapist or peer helps everyone that interacts with our organization feel understood and heard.

Service to others' is a trait often lost in today's busy world. Embark employees' model what it means to live a life of service to others. This deeply held value helps to build a strong sense of community and repair trust and offer a hope for others who may have lost a sense of belief in others.

By serving others, we restore a sense of faith in others and repair any self-worth that may have been taken from us in the past. Service empowers our community to realize our true potential.

"I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy."

Rabindranath Tagore

Trusting Relationships

Embark is unique from other behavioral health companies in that we not only include a comprehensive, national continuum-of-care, but we invest in and help create an Embark community where we build deep relationships for long-term success.

Every employee that enters the doors of an Embark program, from our professional staff, to our students, is key to our success. Our leadership, admissions, clinical, residential, adventure therapy and medical teams are very passionate about our Core Purpose and make student success their number one priority.

The keys to our success This cutting edge, specialized treatment model occurs in a safe environment were students are able to thrive at their own pace.

Our professional staff and students can only reach their highest potential when given the proper tools. Embarks core values provides the framework for life-long success by overcoming early emotional, traumatic or attachment challenges.

The reason for our success is no secret. It comes down to one single principle that transcends time and geography, religion and culture. Grow or die - the simple idea that if you are not growing you are dying. This is our secret sauce. If we can define Embark in just one word. It is Growth.

We believe living and working in the growth zone where we are slightly overwhelmed, slightly overworked, a little uncomfortable, uncertain and it is unsettling.

Carol Dweck talks about two human mindsets. Embark employees believe firmly in the Growth Mindset and we push ourselves and others every day to live life with that mindset.

Our Results

The star at the intersection of our company logo represents our core value of results. By living our collective core values we drive meaningful results for all of our stakeholders. The reason behind everything we do is to get results. Our families entrust their children to our care because they expect results. Our ultimate result is our BEHAG. The stakes are just too high for us to not perform and deliver results.
