Amy Adkins, LCSW
Amy Adkins was born and raised in Utah County. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Utah Valley University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Family Studies.
How We Can Help
Many students have experienced a negative event that changes her view of the world. Often compounded by other mental health disorders, traumatic stress can even cause other mental health issues. New Haven’s staff of trauma-informed therapists helps students process difficult emotions and then can address any accompanying disorders. Renowned for helping families solve complex issues, our residential treatment center works with families and individuals to resolve relational issues resulting from adoption, divorce and family traumatic stress.
What to Expect
Our residential treatment center in Utah provides teen girls with a comforting, safe environment that feels like home while they navigate an intensive family program and AP-level academics. Balancing school and therapy, students return home from New Haven connected, healed and prepared to deal with whatever life has in store for them.
Family Focused Residential Treatment
Families have a weekly 90-minute family therapy session over video conference. This is a time to work together on family issues, offer support and plan for the return home. New Haven Residential Treatment Center also hosts twice-monthly parent coaching calls and bimonthly family weekends. All therapies are based on building real and genuine relationships with each student and each family member.

Our residential treatment facility specializes in helping teenage and adolescent girls with mental health issues, equipping them with skills to overcome the more challenging aspects of life. Students come to our center in Utah with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, traumatic stress and other challenging emotional and social issues. Most of the students who come to our residential treatment facility are battling two or more of these challenges.
