Two Short-Term Residential Treatment Homes in San Martin

The two beautiful homes at our residential treatment center in California offer a variety of amenities for your preteen or teen while they go through mental health treatment. We feature luxurious pools for therapeutic activities and swimming, as well as gazebos and outdoor lounge areas for those who want to soak up some sun. Our homes provide spacious shared and single bedrooms where your child can create strong bonds with others overcoming mental health challenges.

Adolescents staying at our short-term residential program can enjoy a selection of healthy menu items like oats with fresh fruit, taco bars, or prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast in our vibrant dining areas. We provide comfortable individual and group therapy offices for those working their way through issues like anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. Both of our homes feature beautiful outdoor areas where adolescents can practice yoga and other therapeutic exercises that will help them heal. In the evenings, preteens and teens can share poetry and participate in group support by the fireplace before winding down for the night.

The benefit of short-term care at Embark at San Martin is that it is more affordable than long-term care, the shorter care we provide makes it easier for adolescents to jump back into life at home, and it is frequently reimbursed by insurance.

The main differences between short-term care at Embark at San Martin and inpatient treatment are the treatment environments and lengths of care. Embark at San Martin’s beautiful location in the hills of California provides teens and young adults with a home-like environment and a schedule that mirrors home life, but has more therapy mixed in throughout the day. Inpatient treatment usually takes place in a hospital environment. Embark at San Martin also provides a longer treatment time in comparison to inpatient treatment, which can last around 30 days on average.

The length of treatment differs for each pre-teen and teen, but on average short-term treatment at Embark at San Martin lasts around 90 days.

Therapeutic Activities at Embark at San Martin

In addition to traditional therapy methods, our residential mental health facility’s beautiful California location will allow your preteen and teen to participate in therapeutic and experiential activities like state park outdoor activities and horseback riding. We implement these activities for your child to not only get a break from the house but also learn how to apply the skills learned on campus in real-world environments, while also learning healthy and appropriate ways to find enjoyment in life.

All the activities that we do fall within one of the five domains of functioning, which include social functioning, emotional functioning, intellectual functioning, physical functioning, and spiritual functioning.
