Dr. William Bunn, D.O

Dr. Bunn earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brigham Young University in English Literature with an emphasis in Rhetoric. Prior to Medical School he was a full-time English instructor at BYU and was honored as a Meyhew Teaching Award Finalist. Dr. Bunn has written publications in the area of doctor-patient communications and medical education. His most recently published article discusses how to help medical students develop more empathy for the mentally ill. Dr. Bunn attended medical school at Des Moines University with clinical training at Ohio University. His psychiatry training was completed at the University of Utah, where he received outstanding Junior and Senior Resident Awards and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology. He currently provides psychiatric care for a number of organizations including the BYU Student Health Center, UVRMC, Universal Health Systems, and Innerchange. In addition to this, he is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. Dr. Bunn takes a conservative approach to medication management.
