Stacey Spencer

Therapist

Stacey Spencer has an extensive background in art and music, which informs her creative therapeutic approach. In 2012, she received her bachelor’s degree in gender studies from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Here, Stacey built a foundation for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, dedicated to empowering gender expansive youth and young adults. Furthering this commitment, Stacey pursued her master’s degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy from Antioch University in Los Angeles. She completed her traineeship at a non-profit outpatient mental health clinic in Sherman Oaks, focusing on depth psychology and experiential modalities. After receiving her MA, Stacey worked in an intensive outpatient program where she facilitated individual and group therapy for preteens and teens with severe depression and anxiety.

Stacey is trained in evidenced-based treatment methods including DBT and motivational interviewing, which she weaves into interventions that include art, play, and experiential therapy. She is passionate about helping people reconnect with joy, hope, curiosity, and courage. With her eclectic experience and flexible approach, Stacey loves finding the right tools to meet the diverse needs of adolescents and families.
