Sophia Hutton (pronounced So-fye-uh) joins Embark after working with Star View Community Services and The Guidance Center in Los Angeles County, working with children, adolescents, and adults. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Women and Gender Studies and Race and Ethnic Studies from the University of Redlands and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University: Dominguez Hills. She became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2023 and is trained and certified in Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT), and is currently working on a certification in Somatic Experiencing for Trauma. Sophia is experienced with individual, group, and family therapy and has been working in the field of mental health since 2015. Sophia is passionate about supporting clients and their families in healing from generational trauma and rewriting unhelpful, damaging narratives to move to a place of collective healing and repair. In her free time, Sophia enjoys going to Orange Theory Fitness, volunteering at Mutts in Need dog rescue, hiking, and spending time with her family and fur babies (Cholula the dog, and Skip and Pony, the bunnies).
