Samantha Butterworth

Samantha Butterworth, LMFT

Primary Therapist

Samantha is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has spent the last five years on the rewarding journey of supporting teens and their families through various challenges in residential treatment, PHP, and IOP settings. Samantha’s first experience in working with youth was during her undergraduate studies, when she worked with teens in the foster care system. This experience demonstrated to Samantha the power of therapeutic connection and relationships, and how this can be transformative for clients. This awareness remains an important influence in her work as a therapist today; building connection and providing a safe space of healing where others can be their authentic selves.

Samantha attended Cal State Monterey Bay for undergrad studies and graduated from Phillips Graduate University with her masters degree in 2019. Following graduate school, Samantha worked in teen residential treatment, initially as a residential counselor and then in the therapist role. Samantha’s passion for working with teens was further ignited in this setting, and she was determined to help struggling families and their teens. With her experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), she is intentional about creating a space for healing, while providing warmth, empathy, tangible skills, and collaborative goals towards progress. In her free time, she values time with loved ones, reading, exercising, and exploring new places through traveling.
