Muge Khalaf

Hi, I am Muge, the Enrollment Director and a clinical mental health therapist with a strong dedication and belief towards helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and support in creating a fulfilling and joyful life. I was originally born in Turkey and moved to the United States at the age of six. I have had the opportunity to travel the majority of the world, meet new people, and gain knowledge about different cultures helping me to truly understand the meaning of acculturation and assimilation. My multicultural background allows me to connect with individuals by demonstrating empathy, understanding, compassion, acceptance while creating a safe, comfortable, supportive and judgment free environment. I have received a Bachelor of Applied Psychology from Penn State University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and a Master of Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Capella University. I have 15 years of experience working in the mental health field including inpatient and outpatient treatment and crisis work with children, adolescents, and adults. My goal and passion are to help individuals who struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem, ADHD, PTSD, Trauma, Grief, Substance use and addiction, executive functioning skills, and stress. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy. My passion has always been to support individuals overcome the challenges of life by learning and developing coping skills, communication skills, emotion regulation, self-love, attunement, distress tolerance skills, and empowering you to build the confidence, happiness, value, and trust to live the life that you deserve.
