Atim Bassey, LCSW-C

Atim is a Nigerian American woman who grew up in Northern VA and comes to us from Newport Healthcare in Rockville, MD. She began her career working as a case manager in DC with underserved communities. She returned to school for a Masters in Social Work and worked for the non-profit organization, Center for Children, where she trained and worked as a functional family therapist. She joined Newport Healthcare and as a family therapist for five years where she also ran an internship program and a parent and family support program.

Atim obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University, and a Master of Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore. Atim is trained in Functional Family Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy and EMDR. She enjoys Broadway musicals and loves to read and watch TV. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family and also enjoys traveling.
