Wahdae Elliott is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology, and a minor in Sociology, all from THE Pennsylvania State University, University Park. Wahdae also obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. The specific field she is interested in, unpacks how relationships (platonic, romantic, familial, professional) impact not only our well-being, but the framework of who we are as individuals.

Wahdae solidified her passion for the human mind, by participating in numerous psychology-related organizations before her career’s inception. Each of these orgs emphasized the importance of an individual’s unique upbringing and how one’s personal background ignites the mindset they hold today. Through an organization at Penn State, she facilitated thousands of intimate group dialogues that specifically highlighted sociological address. She productively invited conflict and uncovered unheard viewpoints amongst students. Upon graduation, she gained additional work experience with young children, adolescents, and adults. These professional environments included residential treatment centers, mental health clinics, academic settings, and non-profit organizations. Wahdae then proceeded to create multiple forms of educational and cultural programming for her clients, with a specific focus on Women, Black, & LGBTQ+ populations.

Wahdae utilizes multiple different therapeutic approaches. She engages in individual, family, and group therapy. She has experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), conducting Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapy. Her frequently used modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT). Many of the skills associated with these interventions allowed Wahdae to assist clients dealing with substance abuse, maladaptive behaviors, severe anxiety, grief, and profound trauma.

Through genuine empathy and connection, Wahdae hopes to create a safe space for her clients to discover who they are. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to Afrobeats, spending quality time with loved ones, traveling, and binging her favorite Pixar films.
