Jenee Williams

Academic Coordinator

Jenee graduated from Old Dominion University in 2016, with a bachelor’s degree in dance education. While earning her degree, Jenee received a scholarship to study abroad at the University of Leicester in England. Jenee spent this time abroad traveling to different countries, taking unfamiliar dance classes, and getting to know herself.

After graduating, Jenee moved to the DMV area where she taught for five years in underserved communities. Whilst teaching, Jenee was offered the opportunity to teach in an inclusion classroom where multiple students struggled with various mental health issues. This experience prompted Jenee to get her certification in behavioral therapy and later become a registered behavioral therapist.

Mental health is very important to Jenee, as her brother suffers from a severe mental health condition along with her late father. After the passing of Jenee’s father, Jenee decided to take a break from her four years of behavioral therapy to complete a service term. This service term allowed Jenee to serve those in her community while also deciding her career path.

Jenee’s personal life experiences motivated her to pursue a career in the mental health field where she would be able to use her educational experience, which also aiding those who are facing mental health concerns.

Becoming an Academic Coordinator for Embark was the perfect fit for Jenee. Jenee continues to provide educational support to her residents while also helping them navigate through their mental health barriers.

In Jenee’s spare time, she continues to dance and travel as she did when she was abroad.
