Carter Tipton

Carter Tipton was raised in Montgomery County, receiving an Associate of Arts with a focus in Social Sciences from Montgomery College before receiving a Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland School of Social Work pursuing an MSW, and plans on attaining clinical licensure to become a mental health therapist upon graduating.

Carter’s background includes work in settings such as IOP, PHP, group homes, and community mental healthcare. He has experience facilitating group therapy using frameworks such as DBT, CBT, IFS (internal family systems), and expressive therapies, though is particularly fond of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).

In addition to dedicating himself toward creating a warm, open, and fun therapeutic environment, Carter enjoys watching soccer, snowboarding, seeing live music, and drinking tea.
