Our Residential Treatment Centers (RTC) Program Options

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is similar to a partial hospitalization program (PHP) but sessions are conducted in the evening to accommodate school and work commitments. Our IOP is a minimum of 12 hours per week – 3 hours a day, 4-6 days per week, in-person or virtual.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

A partial hospitalization program (PHP), sometimes referred to as a "day hospital" or "day program," is a structured treatment program. Our PHP is a minimum of 20 hours per week – 5 hours a day, 5 days per week in-person.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP)

Our virtual IOP program can provide more frequent sessions to help meet the needs of your adolescent, teen, or young adult with a personalized mental health treatment plan in place and options of attending 4-6 days a week.

Residential Treatment and Transitional Living Programs

Our residential treatment and transitional living options are open to both females and males. Calo has a preteen program for boys and girls between the ages of 10-13 while their teen program serves older teens, ages 14-18. Both programs use unique interventions like adventure therapy, canine therapy, and neurofeedback therapy while also prioritizing academics and helping students balance the demands of life, play, and school.

Residential Therapies and Treatments Offered

Calo primarily helps students impacted by trauma such as from adoptions (or more accurately relinquishment from birth parents), chronic stress, disruptions in early childhood, and inconsistent care from caregivers. Most students at our residential treatment facility have struggled to be in a healthy relationship with their family and/or peers, often experience emotional dysregulation, and have difficulty maintaining safe behavior at home or in school. Students come to Calo Programs struggling with adoption issues, identity issues, reactive attachment disorder, and/or personality disorders.

Types of Therapy We Offer

Our students learn to develop attuned, empathetic, and safe relationships through healthy, repetitive relational therapy.

Both of our residential treatment centers in Missouri use unique interventions like adventure therapy, canine therapy, and neurofeedback therapy while also prioritizing academics and helping students balance the demands of life, play, and school.
