Statement from our CEO on Diversity and Inclusion
At Embark Behavioral Health we believe in diversity not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because it is the best thing for performance. We believe in creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We want an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work. And I hope my team continues to hold me accountable to that. Transparency is the first step to accountability. With that in mind, Embark is currently comprised of the following.
In a Director, Manager, or Senior level position, not including therapists or any supervisory positions:
- 64% Female
- 36% Male
Overall employee breakdown:
- 70% Female
- 30% Male
- 26% Ethnic minority
- 74% White (non-Hispanic)
Though this is the data we track. This is not where diversity ends. Diversity is not just gender and race but also religion, personality, age, personal background, professional experience, personal upbringing, and more. Though I am proud of our current diversity, we can always (and should) be better. Most of our locations are in remote areas, which can at times make building diversity a little harder, but that just means we need to work that much harder at it.
